Service summary

Employers for Carers (often just known as EfC) is a growing membership forum and service for employers who are seeking to support the carers in their workforce and retain key talent. EfC is managed and supported by the specialist knowledge of Carers UK and is steered by a Leadership Group of employers. Formally launched as a membership forum in January 2009 (after many years of earlier work with employers), EfC now has around 120 organisations in membership covering at least 1.25 million employees and is continuing to grow. It offers information, advice and training for employers of carers through the Employers for Carers website. It works to ensure firms stay competitive and retain skilled staff but are able to recognise the needs of carers working for them.

Membership benefits include:

• Dedicated website including resources for all managers and employees of a company

• Practical guides and advice for managers and carers including case studies, model policies, FAQs and tools and tips

• Annual expert information or diagnostic sessions in a company’s workplace (as required) including the popular ‘lunch and learn’ events

• Opportunity to share and learn from other employers including at regular member networking events

More information on the business benefits of joining Employers for Carers can be found on their website. If you are interested in becoming a member, please follow this link: http://www.employersforcarers.org/business-case/join-us
